Reflections

Reflections & Media
This is where thinking becomes visible.
Every Tuesday I share a video on LinkedIn, a reflection on leadership, coaching, or what it means to show up fully in the work you do. Every Friday, a penguin arrives with a leadership insight that tends to land harder than a paragraph ever could.
Below you will also find the places where others have invited me to share my thinking - a podcast, a press feature, and more to come.
Reflections

Weekly Videos
Every Tuesday, a short video. A thought on leadership, coaching, or what it means to lead well
in a complicated world. Rooted in real experience never from a script.
LEADERSHIP
COACHING
Sometimes the Strongest Leader Creates the Weakest Team
When everything flows through one person, the team learns to step back.
Real leadership isn’t about being needed everywhere. It’s about building something that doesn’t rely only on you. When a leader steps in because it’s faster or easier, they quietly take ownership away from the people around them. The question to ask: where can I step back just enough for others to step forward?
— Where are you stepping in - when you could be stepping back?
LEADERSHIP COACHING
CAREER COACHING
Focus vs. Firefighting
Firefighting feels like progress. Focus requires conviction.
When results dip or uncertainty rises, the instinct is to do more — more initiatives, more meetings, more urgency around everything. But often the real work is simpler and harder: identify the strategy that will actually win, and stay focused on it. This pattern shows up in career searches
too. A search that begins with intention slowly turns into applying everywhere, chasing everything — busy, but not moving closer to the right fit.
— Where are you choosing urgency over intention?
LEADERSHIP COACHING
SOUTH ASIAN LEADERS
Asian Leaders Visibility
“Be more visible” is advice that hits differently for many Asian leaders.
Visibility isn’t about becoming louder or more aggressive. It’s about clarity - knowing what you stand for and how you want to show up. Many of us were taught to be respectful, be humble, and let our work speak. Those values aren’t wrong. But leadership today also asks for presence and
voice - not ego, not self-promotion. The real work starts with defining a personal leadership compass.
— What kind of leader do you want to be known for - on your own terms?

Driving Accountability
Accountability isn’t just a buzzword. It’s the foundation of high-performing teams.
A six-part series breaking down the principles that make accountability real: Clear Expectations (the why and what), Ownership (the who), Communication, Measurable Outcomes (what does winning look like), Consistency (discipline), and Support (the courage to ask for help).
Accountability isn’t only about keeping promises - it’s about stretching beyond limits with purpose and support.
— Which of these six principles is your team’s growing edge right now?
CAREER
COACHING
Taking Chances in Your Career
At 28, I moved to a new country. 11 years later, I left a stable company. More recently, I stepped into coaching.
Each of those leaps came with uncertainty. Each one taught me something I couldn’t have learned from staying put. Taking chances isn’t recklessness - it’s the willingness to treat even failure as a learning experience. Growth, resilience, and clarity about what truly matters all live on the other side of a calculated risk.
— What chance have you been considering — and what’s actually holding you back?
SELF-AWARENESS
LEADERSHIP COACHING
Peel the Layers
Leadership isn’t about fixing what you see. It’s about understanding what’s underneath.
When frustration shows up, pause and ask: what layer is this protecting? Anger often guards fear. Certainty often hides doubt. Urgency often masks discomfort. The real work of leadership isn’t adding more armor - it’s having the courage to peel the layers. This insight sits at the heart of
Grounds of Reflection, a quiet companion for leaders who want to lead with presence, not just performance.
— What layer are you being invited to peel today?
Penguin Wisdom

Leadership through a different lens
Every Friday, a penguin arrives on LinkedIn with something worth thinking about.
The penguin has been our mascot since my daughter Ashna first drew one to accompany a poem - loyal, resilient, showing up in the cold. These illustrations carry that same spirit: a moment of recognition that makes you say “that’s exactly what’s happening on my team.”
Each penguin pairs with a Tuesday video, bringing the same insight to life in a single image.
LEADERSHIP COACHING

“Sometimes the strongest leader… creates the weakest team.”
When a leader does everything — carries the fish, holds the tools, manages the clipboard — the team learns to stand and watch. Delegation isn’t giving away control. It’s giving people the chance to grow.
LEADERSHIP COACHING | CAREER COACHING

“Effort vs. Focused Aim — it’s not how many arrows you shoot.”
Firing in every direction feels like action. One arrow, aimed with clarity, hits the target. The same is true in a job search, a strategy, and a leadership challenge. Firefighting feels like progress. Focus requires conviction.

PRESS FEATURE •
CEO TIMES
Not a Tree: Urmi Trivedi on Embracing Change and Finding Growth in New Paths
A feature exploring the philosophy behind my coaching practice — rooted in the belief that if you don’t like where you are, you can change it. You are not a tree. The article explores how I help leaders navigate career transitions, pivot with intention, and find the path that fits who they are becoming — not just who they have been.
Closing

If something here made you think that thought is worth following.
The videos, the penguins, the podcast all of it is an extension of the same work I do in every coaching session. Helping people see themselves and their leadership more clearly.
If you would like to bring that work into your organization either as a coach, a speaker, or a
facilitator I would love to hear from you.
